Our office is open 24 hours, 365 days of the year to meet the transportation demands of our customers. We transport people, letters and packages from any address in our locality to any destination local, medium and long distance, for all occasions. Our Clients.As well as serving customers in the locality to their chosen destination, we also serve the major supermarkets and major chain hotels in the Barking area. We are known for our reliability throughout the area and are proud of our established reputation that has been built over the years. Topographical (knowledge) Testing.Alphabet Cars Ltd is an accredited service provider to carry out driver training and assesment at our premises on behalf of the Public Carriage Office. Since 1st April 2006 all new private hire applicants will need to have passed a topographical assessment (knowledge test) prior to being issued with a private hire driver’s licence. A certificate will need to be supplied in support of each new application. 
Our Vehicles.
SALOON CAR - The family saloon can comfortably carry up to 4 passengers with boot space for luggage. |
ESTATE CAR - The estate car can also comfortably carry up to 4 passengers and is ideal for families where extra luggage space is required. |
MPV/PEOPLE CARRIER - The Multi Purpose Vehicle can carry 6 or 7 passengers and has a larger boot space for luggage. MPVs can also be used for light removals as the seats can be folded. |
MINIBUS - The 17 seater minibus is ideal for local and long journeys for all types of occasions. The minibus can carry up to 16 passengers. |
The PCO website has a searchable database of all licensed private hire operators and vehicles and all licensed or registered private hire drivers.
NEVER use an unlicensed Minicab Operator or a Minicab illegally touting. Not only are you risking your safety but you will not be insured in the event of an accident.

Helpful Points.
Always use a reputable mini-cab or private hire car firm and book at their office or by phone. When you phone, you can ask for the driver’s vehicle make and colour. Do not flag down a minicab on the street and never accept a lift from an unlicensed minicab.
Remember that only licensed ‘Hackney Carriages’ are allowed to pick people up in the street without having made a booking first. Private-hire firms must be pre-booked by law.
Hotels are normally willing to call you a cab or can provide details of a licensed minicab company.
Ensure that the vehicle which arrives is the one you ordered. Give the operator your name and when the cab arrives ask the driver the name of the person they are expecting to collect before you get in and ask for their identification badges which should be carried at all times. If you are going home, ask the driver not to drive off until you are safely inside your home. News & Events.
